Canada Goose was founded in 1957 in Toronto, Canada, by Sam Tick, a Polish immigrant. Originally named Metro Sportswear Ltd., the company started by manufacturing woolen vests, raincoats, and snowmobile suits. In the 1970s, Tick’s son-in-law, David Reiss, joined the company and developed a unique down-filling machine, which allowed the company to expand its product line to down-filled jackets and parkas.
